The Wolverines finished with 32 shots in the loss. Detroit Lakes had 28 shots on goal during the third-period scoring frenzy. Wolverine netminder Derek Neu took the loss as he was peppered by the relentless Lakers for 59 shots. Jascha Pettit had three goals and an assist. Justin Wolden tallied five points, all on assists. Maas led the way with two goals and four assists. The high-scoring game brought a wealth of points for the Wolverines in the loss. Unfortunately, the Lakers ruined any chance for the Wolverines to pull off the upset when Schiller scored shorthanded at 4:11 for the game-winner to make it 7-6. The Wolverines got a big break 2:44 into the extra period when Laker Alex Provo was called for interference, setting up a prime power-play opportunity. Pettit's hat trick goal with 2:03 remaining in the game tied it up and gave the Wolverines a shot at ending the bleeding going into overtime. The meltdown started at one minute into the third on Ben Bergquist's goal, followed by goals from Cody Einerson, Tyler Swenson, Kyle Danner, Joe Schiller, Josh O'Neill, giving the Lakers the 6-5 lead. In all, six different Lakers scored in the furious comeback that melted the Wolverines upset chances. In 17 minutes, the Wolverines' big lead disappeared as fast as the snow cover on the ground in the Wadena area as the Lakers' wave after wave of scoring scorched the nets. Christian Berg tallied the other goal to give the Wolverines a seemingly comfortable cushion heading into the final period. The Wolverines built a 5-0, second-period lead over the undefeated Lakers behind two goals apiece from Jascha Pettit and Zach Maas. 19, it seemed that the Wadena-Deer Creek boys hockey team were primed to take on another conference foe in Detroit Lakes. You can follow your team and see updated stats and brackets. However, the app is tournament-centric so you can’t follow your team across all tournaments and seasons. When you have a regular season plus tournaments, you have to find every tournament separately. It’s like having 15 different calendars to check. The search feature is very poor - you can’t search by name or org, you have to scroll through by month and state. We love on the border of two states so we have games in both states, so you have to know which state the tournament is set up under even if there are multiple locations. There is also no feature to subscribe/sync with your own calendar, so you have to add every game to your own calendar and continually check the app to see if games schedules have changed. It really is cumbersome as a parent and I only have one child. There are other apps that have all the features I’ve mentioned that are much easier to use as a parent.
